What we keep about you
The short version: we keep what we need to fix your device, sell you something or get back to you, we don't sell it to anyone, and you can ask us to show you, correct or delete it at any time.
Who we are

What we keep, and why
Repairs, data recovery, call-outs and enquiries.When you book online, ask through the website, or bring something in, we keep your name, phone number, email, your device and what's wrong with it — and your address if you post it to us or book a call-out. We need these to do the job, keep you updated and return it. They're kept in RepairDesk, the system we run the workshop on.
Accounts and shop orders. If you make an account or buy from the shop, your account, orders and delivery address are held by Shopify, which runs our shop. A cookie keeps you signed in; it does nothing else.
The chat on this site.What you type is sent to Anthropic, whose AI writes the replies. If you leave your details for us to get back to you, they come to us as an enquiry in RepairDesk. Please don't put passwords or bank details in the chat.
Trade-ins.Trade-in quotes on this site are handled by Reusely, under their own privacy terms. When we buy a device on eBay, we keep the seller's eBay username with the order, and remove it if eBay tells us the account has been closed.
Letting the shop know.When you book, a short notice — your first name and your device — is sent to the shop's phone through Pushover, so nobody misses it.
Payments.Card payments go through the card machine in the shop or Shopify's checkout online. We never see or keep your card number.
Analytics. Only if you accept cookies do we load Google Analytics, to see which pages people use. Decline, and nothing from Google is loaded at all.
Who else handles it
Only the services above, each for its part: RepairDesk (repairs and enquiries), Shopify (accounts and orders), Anthropic (the chat), Reusely (trade-in quotes), eBay (devices we buy), Pushover (booking notices), Google (analytics, if you accept), and Vercel and Upstash, which host this site and keep its records. If you message us on WhatsApp, that goes through WhatsApp. We don't sell your details, and don't pass them to anyone for marketing.
How long we keep it
As long as we need it for your repair or order and any warranty on it, and for our accounts — which UK tax law asks us to keep for six years.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it — just get in touch as above. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
